The fourth XI looked to continue to make progress in the Bill Hill Cup with a home game against Village 'D'.

Wulfs were the first to show when Sam Cole received a good ball and took on three players before going down under a strong challenge in the penalty area but the referee allowed play to go on.

Shortly after, a good ball was played down the right to Adam Hughes and he fired in a good cross that was just missed by Carl Hitchon.

Wulfs eventually took the lead when, from a throw in, good movement by Cole and Hughes ended with the latter feeding Chris Nicholls and he curled a superb shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Things were going well at this stage but Village got back into the game by scoring an equaliser just minutes before the half time break.

Although Wulfs started the second half brightly, the fell behind when Village scored a well taken goal.

Wulfs battled for the rest of the game in an attempt to find the elusive equaliser and their were good performances from Richard Marsh, Andrew Skedgel, Andy Carey and Sam Cole.

Skedgel had another good shout for a penalty fifteen minutes from time but again the appeals were turned away.

The last throw of the dice came when Gary Dimmack made a substitution, bringing off goal scorer Chris Nicholls and introducing veteran Paul Cole.

With four minutes left on the clock, Paul Cole exchanged passes with Richard Marsh and then hit a diagonal pass to his son Sam and young Coley made no mistake with the finish to force extra time.

The two fifteen minute period of extra time failed to produce a winner so the two teams will now renew battle in a weeks time at Village's ground.

Final score: Old Wulfrunians 2  Village 'D' 2.
