This was a game that the fourth XI dominated for seventy-five minutes and were deservedly 2 - 0 up with goals from Mark Howard and Carl Hitchon.
After umpteen one-on-ones were spurned due to some fine heroics from the Parkfield keeper, the nerves started to fray.
Substitute Nick Ling finally arrived a quarter of an hour from time to replace the injured Mark Howard. His arrival changed the game and within ten minutes Wulfs were 4 - 2 down. The biggest factor in three of the goals being the linesman's failure to flag for offside but there can be no excuse as Wulfs failed to supply a linesman.
A disappointing result after Wulfs had controlled the bulk of the game.
Special mention to the two new lads, Adam Hughes and Mike Hill who both put in competent performances. Paul Cole was again outstanding in goal and Richard Marsh was excellent with the use of his hands, both for his long throws and for throttling an opposition midfielder a minute from time.
Final score: Parkfield Amateur 4 Old Wulfrunians 2.
