The fourth XI played host to a strong Shirley Athletic but were able to field an old friend between the posts when Roscoe Hale made a guest appearance.
Wulfs started slowly and went 1 - 0 down within a matter of seconds. Slight confusion between stalwart defender Gary Dimmack and the aforementioned Roscoe Hale led to the Shirley striker having an easy tap in.
Wulfs gradually worked their way back into the game and passed the ball around well with bright performances from Stefan Kapcia and Mike Garner down the flanks.
Wulfs equalised on twenty-nine minutes after some good pressure and link up play between Adam Hughes and Ashley Price down the right led to Price firing home with a great strike.
Wulfs were unlucky not to go into the break with the lead with Nick Ling heading wide from Richard Marsh's cross.
The incident that probably changed the course of the game came when Andy Carey picked up a knee injury following an accidental collision.
After a slow start to the second half, Wulfs fell behind again. A long goal kick bypassed the Wulfs midfield and, after a cry of "Gaddy's" from the player manager, Gary Dimmack sent a perfect looping, cushioned, forty yard volley over the onrushing Hale and into his own net.
Wulfs then went to pieces and, after losing the experienced Andy Carey and the White Feather Mark Howard to injury, concede five more goals to end up with a crushing defeat.
Come back Paul Cole ……...
Final score: Old Wulfrunians 1 Shirley Athletic 7.
