The fifth XI faced a very difficult challenge when they faced up to another of the promotion favourites Sporting 2003.
Wulfs produced a fighting performance against a very talented Sporting side though this didn't tell the whole story of a 0 - 6 defeat.
Three deflected own goals and a couple of shin ins plus an outstanding turn and finish worthy of Thierry Henry settled the game.
On this showing the fifth XI can't be far away from a first win of the season.
All in all it was a game played with good spirit and in the correct atmosphere, apart from the odd sulk from Danny Cheal, who is a transsexual formerly called Heidi, and was controlled by a very fair referee from the opposition, and enjoyed by both teams.
Final score: Old Wulfrunians 0 Sporting (2003) 6.
