The fifth XI hoped to build on a promising, if unproductive start to the season when they entertained Wake Green Amateurs at the Memorial Ground.
A blend of youth and experience saw the return of veterans Martin Dangerfield, Dave Benton and Rob Clifford-Hill who, along with Gordon Brown, Dave Price and Robin Lowbridge were all old enough to be the grandfather of young Rob James, aged just seventeen.
The game was fairly even but at times the extra pace of the Wake Green attackers was decisive as they took a 2 - 0 lead.
Wulfs got back in to the game when they pulled a goal back through a Dave Price five yard snorter.
With the half time score line of 1 - 2 Wulfs were confident of further improvement and hopefully a point or three come the end of the game.
However Wake Green grabbed a third goal from a corner to put the game beyond Wulfs reach, no matter how hard they tried to get back.
Final score: Old Wulfrunians 1 Wake Green Amateurs 3.
