The fifth XI were hoping to pick up their first points of the season when they entertained Village.
The referee's comments that "Old Wulfs should have won but Village deserved their point" summed up this entertaining game perfectly.
It was great for the impartial observer but frustrating for the Old Wulfrunians faithful as four times they took the lead only to be pegged back by a doggedly determined Village side who wouldn't give in.
Wilf Guest's early groin injury (no more sex on Friday nights for you my boy) was overcome by the introduction of Andy 'won't you buy a Christmas raffle ticket' Goodwin as the fifth XI youth policy continues to flourish.
Ian 'Wrighty' Phillips impressed his mates with a well taken hat-trick and his mates impressed the elder statesmen in the team as some pretty impressive football was played at times.
With a point on the board Wulfs can hopefully move on to bigger and better things.
Final score: Old Wulfrunians 4 Village 4.
